Located in a charming 16th-century building in the historic centre of Urbino, the Ristorante San Giovanni is part of a site full of history. Once a noble residence, the building later housed the mint of the Duchy of Urbino, and eventually became the property of the noble Albani family, who established a pin factory there in the mid-18th century – giving the place its name: “Palazzo della Spillara”. Since 1958, it has hosted a small, family-run hotel with 30 rooms, and the attached San Giovanni restaurant and pizzeria.
The restaurant can accommodate over 200 guests and is perfect for ceremonies, large groups, or school trips. The menu offers a wide selection of traditional dishes you can choose from individually, including seasonal truffle pasta, wild boar and venison ragù, stewed game, and the renowned rabbit in porchetta. Pizzas are baked exclusively in a traditional wood-fired oven.
The warm, welcoming atmosphere and high-quality local food make it the perfect spot to relax, socialise, and enjoy a delicious meal in good company.
